Pain has been called America's silent epidemic. It is estimated that between 50 and 90 million Americans live with some kind of pain, which affects a person's family, job and community. Join Health Dialogues as we explore the latest research on pain and the brain, pain relief, addiction and even attitudes towards pain.


Chronic Pain: On the Front Lines

Guest host Rachael Myrow speaks with two doctors who specialize in chronic pain about our understanding of this under-addressed issue, and how it affects people. Guest: Dr. Robert Brody, chief, Pain Consultation Clinic, and attending physician, Pain Service, San Francisco General Hospital. Guest: Dr. Scott Fishman, chief of the Division of Pain Medicine at UC Davis, and president of the American Pain Foundation.
