L.A.'s City Council and the Pot Question
Voters legalized medical marijuana in 1996, but
without local regulation, pot clubs grew like weeds --
especially in major cities like Los Angeles. This week,
L.A.'s City Council approved a measure that would shut
down most of the hundreds of pot shops in the city and
place tough restrictions on those left. Many
politicians voting on the issue grew up during an era
when pot smoking was common, although some deny taking
part, as we found out when we surveyed members of the
L.A. City Council. Reporter: Frank Stoltze
