Today is the Day of Action for California
public education. Walkouts, teach-ins and rallies will
take place everywhere from kindergartens to graduate
schools. Advocates for education have banded together
to protest state budget cuts -- and they're also digging
in their heels over Governor Schwarzenegger's call to
reopen last summer's budget agreement. Reporter: John Myers
Auto workers in the San Francisco Bay Area got
some good news yesterday. Toyota, the last partner
standing in the once joint venture with GM known as New
United Motor Manufacturing Inc (or NUMMI), announced it
will bankroll bonus pay to thousands of workers after
the plant in Fremont closes at the end of the month.
But the plant is still closing, and that's going to cost
the state big time, according to a new report. Reporter: Kelly Wikinson
