Mourning a Loved One Lost to War

Pauline Laurent
Nearly 600 men and women from California have
died in Iraq and Afghanistan since those wars began.
Each loss has a profound and lasting effect on families
and friends. Over the past few months, we spent time
talking with military family members about the death of
a loved one in the current wars. First we hear from a
widow who lost her husband in another war -- and still
deals with that grief four decades later.
