A panel of scientists that advises the state on the health risks of everything from diesel dust to pesticides has lost five of its nine members in recent weeks. The panel's scientists come primarily from the UC system, and they say they've heard little explanation for their dismissals. Reporter: Amy Standen
California made history this week when it became the first state in the nation to pass legislation setting up a key component of the federal health reform law. If the governor signs the bills, they'd create a new independent state agency that would bargain with health insurers on behalf of consumers and set up a website where plans could be compared.
