Little Fish Vital to Big Ecosystem

If you're a seafood lover, you may be aware when the salmon or crab seasons begin. What we pay less attention to are small fish, such as herring and anchovies. But without those smaller fish for food, there would be no bigger fish. Not that long ago, California's herring population came perilously close to collapse. Lighting the Bay Bridge With 25,000 LEDs

The glamorous Golden Gate Bridge usually gets all the love in the San Francisco Bay Area. But now the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is having its moment. The new eastern span -- under construction for more than a decade -- opens next fall. And this Tuesday night, artist Leo Villareal will unveil a massive light sculpture he has designed for the bridge's western span.
