Gay Marriage: Opponents and Advocates Look to Next Battle

There was little surprise Thursday when the California Supreme Court ruled that San Francisco officials overstepped their authority in giving marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples. The ruling voided the marriages of nearly 4000 couples. Now, opponents and advocates of same sex marriage are already looking ahead to the next step in this cultural and legal battle.Reporter: Cy Musiker


Gay Marriage: Couples React to Ruling

The nearly 4000 gay and lesbian couples whose marriages were annulled Thursday now have a piece of paper that's little more than a memento of history. If the courts ultimately decide that gay people do have a constitutional right to marry, those couples will have to stand in line all over again to be legally united. Hours after the ruling, hundreds of couples gathered in San Francisco to re-affirm their commitment to winning those rights.Reporter: Deirdre Kennedy


Williams vs. California

A four-year legal battle to ensure that millions of low-income students have what they need for a proper education has ended.
