Berkeley writer Al Young was born in Mississippi some 65 years ago, but he spent most of his adult life in California. He
has taught writing at USC, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz. Young says all poetry is political. That's one
reason he was surprised when Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger chose him as California's new poet laureate. Guest: Al Young, California poet laureate.
