Teams of young poets from 42 cities around the world met in New York City recently for the 2006 Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival. The Grand Slam Finals at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem featured four rounds of impassioned and animated poetry performance from five teams. The winning team, Youth Speaks Bay Area, edged the competition from New York, Seattle, Providence and Philadelphia. Guest: Dominique Jones , member of Youth Speaks Bay Area.
