Two Viewpoints on Prop 82: Universal Preschool

There are only two statewide propositions on Tuesday's ballot. The one that has receieved almost all of the attention is Proposition 82. It would raise income taxes on people making $400,000 dollars a year or more and use the money to fund pre-school for all 4-year-old children in California before they enter kindergarten. The money would be used to hire and train teachers and pay for classrooms and programs. San Bernardino-Riverside Libraries and Prop 82

On Tuesday, California libraries will ask state voters to approve a $600 million infrastructure bond measure. In the San Bernardino-Riverside metro area, many libraries are in dire need of books, supplies and in one case, an actual building.Reporter: Steven Cuevas

Sudoku Tournament

This weekend, the San Francisco Exploratorium will host a puzzle party and feature the first live West Coast Sudoku tournament. One of the highlights of the gathering is a three-square-foot interactive version of Sudoku created by puzzle master Scott Kim.

Musician Dave Alvin

Dave Alvin has been writing and singing about California for 25 years. He won a Grammy award for his album "Public Domain," on which he put his mark on traditional blues and folk songs.
