Education and civil rights have been tied in the U.S. for at least half a century, since the Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education that rejected "separate but equal" schooling. Eight years ago this month, California voters approved Proposition 227, which ended most bilingual education in California's public schools, replacing it with English-only classes. Civil rights groups see the proposition as a blow to the ideal of Brown. Reporter: Kathryn Baron
