Wildfire Update

Sawtooth Complex Fire near Yucca Valley has already burned thousands of acres and destroyed dozens of homes, mostly in and around historic Pioneertown. It's being called the worst fire the region has seen in 50 years. Not far away is the much smaller Mallard Fire near Morongo Valley. Omnivorous Goats Help Quell Fire Risk

The flames that are raging across the state are a grim reminder that during the hot and dry summer months, California is especially vulnerable to wildfires. But a traveling group of four-legged experts in fire-abatement have been visiting areas up and down the state, helping to prevent future infernos.

Jello Biafra, the outspoken former front man for the Bay Area band The Dead Kennedys, is known as much for his political rantings and spoken word performances as his hard-driving punk rock tunes. Biafra even ran for mayor of San Francisco in 1979. That same year, the group released "California Uber Alles," in which Biafra launched a blistering attack on then-governor Jerry Brown. Over the years, "California Uber Alles" has been updated by Biafra and other artists to satirize different political leaders. Guest: Jello Biafra, former front man for The Dead Kennedys.
