Apple, Yahoo!, Google and Intel released their third quarter earnings this week, with results all over the financial map. Mountain View-based Google blew past expectations, with profits up 92 percent over last year. At the other end of the spectrum, Google's competitor Yahoo!, Inc. suffered a 38-percent drop.
