Aside from the human toll, the Angora fire will most certainly have long-lasting environmental impacts. The 3,100 acres that burned are in the watershed of Lake Tahoe, renowned for its sapphire waters and remarkable clarity. Just think of all the cars in California that sport bumper stickers saying "Keep Tahoe Blue." It's been a major environmental cause for years, and now that prized clarity could be threatened.
