Countrywide Settlement

California borrowers will get some $3.5 billion in mortgage relief as part of a multi-state settlement. Lawsuits filed against Countrywide alleged that the company deceived borrowers by misrepresenting loan terms, loan payment increases and the borrowers' ability to pay the loans. Reporter: Julie Small


Proposition 8 Draws Big Money

Some 11,000 same-sex couples have married in California since the state Supreme Court allowed it. Proposition 8 on the November ballot would re-instate the ban on same-sex marriage, and new campaign finance data shows both sides of the measure are attracting lots of political contributions. Reporter: John Myers
