If you're planning on hitting the shopping mall today for your holiday gifts, you might notice more police on patrol. That's
because the economic downturn has led to a rise in property crime in many cities. In some parts of the foreclosure-weary Central
Valley, theft has jumped 25 percent from last year, and police are warning people to pay attention, especially at the mall.

Mariachi Plaza in East Los Angeles is famous for the musicians who have long congregated there waiting to be hired. Each year,
hundreds of them turn out on November 22nd for a procession and mass honoring Saint Cecilia, the patron of musicians. Like
so many others, musicians are feeling the pinch of a slowing economy, and organizers moved the celebration to this week so
that mariachis wouldn't have to give up their work on the weekend. Reporter: Debra Baer
