State Legislature Convenes

For a brief time Monday there was celebration under the Capitol dome in Sacramento. But as new members of the California Legislature took the oath of office, storm clouds were already gathering. Reporter: John Myers


Chevron Cleared in Human Rights Lawsuit

A San Francisco jury has cleared Chevron of all liability in a human rights lawsuit filed by Nigerian villagers. Ten years ago, the Nigerian military killed two villagers and injured others who were occupying a Chevron oil platform in the Niger Delta. The plaintiffs sued the San Ramon oil company under a statute that allows foreigners to file lawsuits in U.S. courts for alleged violations of international law. Reporter: Tara Siler
