State budget negotiations appear to be going nowhere, even as the fiscal crisis grows worse by the day. On Wednesday, Governor Schwarzenegger made a public plea for new bipartisan efforts to resolve the state's massive $40 billion deficit. Reporter: John Myers


Green Colleges and the Budget Crisis

California and the incoming Obama administration are playing up the 'green economy' as a key to recovery. The state's community colleges are responding with new programs to train a new 'green-collar' work force. But the promise of the new initiatives may be undermined by California's deepening fiscal crisis -- and a new round of community college budget cuts. Reporter: Tara Siler
