A war is raging out of control along California's southern border with Mexico. In the past two months, some 350 people have been killed in Tijuana alone. Thousands more have been murdered in other parts of Mexico over the past two years. It's all part of an escalating battle between vicious drug cartels and Mexican law enforcement officials. Veteran reporters Amy Isackson of KPBS in San Diego and Vicente Calderon of Tijuana Press.com have teamed up to cover the violence -- and how it's affecting life on both sides of the border.
