Settlement Clears the Way for Stimulus Cash

For weeks, there was talk that the city of Sacramento might not be eligible for federal stimulus money because of an investigation into Mayor Kevin Johnson before his election last fall. But yesterday federal investigators settled the case. Reporter: John Myers


Detention Center Conditions Prompt Lawsuit

Yesterday the Obama administration pledged to tackle immigration before the end of its first year in office. Conditions at federal detention centers will most likely be a part of the overhaul. In Los Angeles, immigrants have sued the government over conditions at a downtown facility. To get an idea of what conditions were like, we spoke with immigrants who stayed there.
