As UC regents considered emergency furloughs to help close an $800 million budget gap, protesters demanded more cuts from the compensation packages of top administrators. During a lunch break at the regents meeting in San Francisco this week, we sat down with UC President Mark Yudof to discuss where spending cuts leave the university.

Japanese American Internees Get Honorary Degrees

Grim budget decisions were the main focus of this week's UC regents meeting, but there were other items on the agenda, including a proposal to right a wrong that occurred more than 65 years ago in California. We profile some former University of California students who never got a chance to collect their diplomas.
