State Parks May Not Close After All

Governor Schwarzenegger has apparently backed off plans to close as many as 100 state parks. His office said yesterday that that there was no timeline for a list of park closures -- and that the governor has directed the state Department of Finance to find other cuts in the state parks budget. But parks supporters remain skeptical. Reporter: Peter Jon Shuler


UC Staff and Faculty Plan Walkout

Tomorrow is the first day of classes at most UC campuses; Berkeley and Merced started last month. It's also the day faculty members, staff and students across the system plan to walk out in protest of the University of California's handling of the budget crisis. Reporter: Mina Kim
