Newsom Drops Out of Governor's Race

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced late today that he's dropping out of the race for governor. That leaves the Democratic primary race for 2010 with no formal candidates, although Attorney General Jerry Brown is widely expected to run and has been well ahead of Newsom in the polls.
