Prop. 8 Back to the State Supreme Court
The California Supreme Court may decide today whether to once again wade into the legal battle over same-sex marriage. Lawsuits are piling up against Proposition 8, the voter initiative that banned same-sex marriage. In their weekly conference today, justices could decide whether to accept those lawsuits for review -- or let Prop. 8 stand.

The quality of medical treatment for inmates in California prisons was the focus of a historic trial that began yesterday in a federal courtroom in San Francisco. The main issue in the case is the serious overcrowding in state correctional facilities, and the impact that has on prisoners.

Naji Hamdan Case
The family of a California man detained without charges for almost three months in the United Arab Emirates is going to court today to try and win his freedom. Lawyers for Naji Hamdan, a U.S. citizen from Lebanon, allege he's being held at the behest of the U.S. government. They're filing suit in Washington to find out why.
