Sacramento Takes Up Minimum Wage Raise
A political battle is heating up in Sacramento over the state's minimum wage. Both Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Democratic lawmakers say they want to hand out a raise to the 1.4 million lowest-paid workers in the state. But they can't agree on how to raise the minimum wage.

San Joaquin Valley Air Improving, But Not Yet Up to Federal Standards
The San Joaquin Valley's air is getting better. Over the last two decades, regulators managed to cut emissions in half. But now, Valley policymakers and scientists have to hammer out a plan to meet strict new federal standards.
