Investigation Underway in Helicopter Crash
Federal investigators are now on the scene of a helicopter crash that killed nine people who were fighting a fire in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The investigators will look at what brought the aircraft down during takeoff and why local authorities weren't clued in to the extent of the tragedy until hours after the crash.

California's Offshore Drilling Policy
For 27 years, a federal moratorium has blocked new oil drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf off California's coast. The majority of the state's politicians have long opposed more drilling, but the politics of this year's presidential campaign is pressuring them to reassess.
